By downloading or using BarqSnif ("the app") you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the app on Apple devices you own or control, in accordance with the App Store Terms of Service.
Everything BarqSnif produces is for information only. It provides general guidance and triage, not diagnosis. It is not a veterinary service and is not a substitute for examination by a qualified veterinarian.
The symptom checker looks at a photograph and what you have typed. It cannot examine your dog, run tests, take a temperature, or know their medical history, and it has no way to detect anything that is not visible in the picture you supplied. Behaviour readings, breed identification and training feedback have the same limits: they are produced by an automated model and may be wrong. Confidence figures describe the model's own certainty, not its accuracy.
Please see a vet for a real check-up before acting on anything the app tells you — including when it suggests the problem is minor. A reassuring result is not clearance.
If your dog is in pain, struggling to breathe, collapsed, bleeding, or deteriorating, contact an emergency veterinary service immediately. Never delay seeking professional advice because of something this app has shown you.
Suggested vaccination and care schedules are generated from published general guidance and your dog's age. They are a starting point for a conversation with your vet, not a prescription. Local law, your dog's health and your vet's judgement take precedence in every case.
Photographs, recordings, notes and records you create remain yours. They are stored on your device; we have no access to them and claim no rights over them. The anonymous usage measurement described in the Privacy Policy never includes them.
Do not reverse-engineer, decompile or redistribute the app or the models it downloads, and do not use it for any unlawful purpose.
The app is provided "as is". Features that depend on device capability — the on-device model in particular — may be unavailable on some hardware. We may change or discontinue features in future versions.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss arising from your use of the app, including any decision made about an animal's health or care. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
